MCESC offers a variety of Professional Development opportunities for Educators in the region.
- Click HERE to sign in and for a catalog of all in house workshops (you will need to create a guest ID if you have not previously logged in)
- After you log in, in the black bar at the top, hover over In-District PD, click on In-District PD Catalog. Close to the top of this page it says “page size”. Use the drop down and make it “All”. Now scroll in alpha order to your event. Click on the title. The next window, top right is the “register” button.
In order to receive a certificate of attendance, in house workshop participants must register through the MCESC PDExpress online portal. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Directions for creating an account in PDExpress are available HERE.
If you have registered for a workshop and are a "No show" or have not canceled one week in advance, your district will be billed. We close workshops one week before an event to prepare materials and order catering if it is included.
ONLINE COURSES are now AVAILABLE
Montgomery County Educational Service Center is proud to partner with ASCD to offer educators online courses to increase their knowledge and learn best practice. The online delivery allows educators to have the flexibility to continue their professional learning anytime and from anywhere. The ASCD Courses include relevant topics from experts in the field such as: Grant Wiggins, Judy Carr, Jay McTighe, Harvey Silver, Carol Ann Tomlinson, Eric Jensen, and Robert Marzano.
Course Topics include: Assessment, The Art and Science of Teaching, Classroom Management, Common Core, Curriculum Development, Differentiated Instruction, Diversity, ELL, Leadership, Learning Theories, Literacy Strategies, Special Populations, STEM and Understanding by Design. Each course is offered at a price of $125.00 and will earn you approximately 20 course completion hours.
With 20 course completion hours and a 150 word "reflection paper" (Double Spaced) you can purchase up to two semester hours of UD Professional Development Workshop credit. One semester hour of credit can be purchased with 20 course completion hours and no "refection paper".

You will be billed by UD for payment for their college credit. Middle section of their form is optional to fill out. UD will supply the DEPT and No.Enter the MCESC course at the bottom where it says "Brief Title of Course". Submit Certificate of completion, UD registration form and reflection paper to Shannon Cox at MCESC. Then all the paperwork is sent to UD. The UD Bursar will bill you for the 350.00.
