MEET THE MCESC - CONNIE NICHOLS (MCESC SCHOOL PSYCH SUPERVISOR)

Connie Nichols meeting with the School Psych team

Back in the day she took in free John Mellencamp performances but nowadays Connie Nichols watches her seventeen year-old daughter perform on the volleyball court.

“She plays volleyball ALL of the time and I enjoy watching her but it also means we are always on the go,” Nichols said.

Nichols is in her fifth year at the MCESC serving as School Psychologist and School Psych Supervisor.   She is housed at our Keowee Street location and also at the Montgomery County Juvenile Courts building.  She has been a School Psychologist for 22 years but her years with the MCESC have been especially gratifying.

“I love working with the area school psychologists, assistants and GA’s (graduate assistants),” Nichols said.  “I like that I have able to grow our school psych group and are allowed to support other school psych staff.”

Nichols works a great deal with our MCESC School Psychologists, Educators on Special Assignment to School Psychologists (Psych Assistants), and UD School Psych Graduate Assistants.

“I am allowed to share my ideas, create new ways to support and grow the SEL division Nichols said. “I appreciate Jess Davies (MCESC SEL Director) for being a great mentor very day.”

As for her John Mellencamp days in Indiana?

“He is from my hometown and I used to see him perform for free in the JC Penny parking lot when I was young.”
