WE ARE THE MCESC - MEET APRIL OLIVER, ASSISTANT TREASURER

April Oliver - Assistant Treasurer

Within the next few days your W-2 will be available.  Our treasurer’s office produced over 600 of them.  It is a big task but as April Oliver explains it, the treasurer’s department effectively handles deadlines by all being on the same page.

“We all have that mind set in the treasurer’s office.  I love this group,” Oliver said.  “We are tight  knit, speak the same language, and have the same goals which are to be efficient.”

This chemistry fits Oliver’s personality perfectly.  She was born in Okinawa.  Her dad was in the army.  Early in her life he brought the family back to Ohio, settling in the Kettering area.  As a teen she played the cello in the orchestra. During this time she realized another passion, the need for the neat and orderly.  Having all her ducks in a row is one of the things she loves about her job here at the MCESC.

“I work with deadlines, and a lot of moving parts,” Oliver said.  “I like efficiency and the order of things I do daily.”

She graduated from Fairmont High School and holds a Business Administration degree from Tiffin University.  She has been in her role here for over three years and prior to that she worked as a payroll administrator at Princeton City Schools and the Mad River Schools.  Here, her days focus on billing but she jumps in where needed.

“My main goal is to be efficient.  I’ve always been that way,” Oliver said. “On our little island we aim to serve those who spend their day serving others on behalf of the MCESC. With all the deadlines, the moving parts, the constant stream of financial activity, efficiency is the key.”

If you ride in her car or listen to her play list you might once in a blue moon hear a cello as a reminder from a moment in her youth but more often than not you will get the head banging tunes from Alice in Chains or Megadeth which she thrives on today. I mean, once in a while you have to rattle the neurons, right?  Rest assured, though, her playlist will be neat, orderly, catalogued and efficient.  You can count on that.

April Oliver is the MCESC.
