MCESC Collaborating to Host Major Job Fair

MCESC Job Fair

Several area high schools and the Montgomery County Educational Service Center in collaboration with Montgomery County Business Services will be hosting one of the largest job fairs in the state.  The North Dayton Regional Job Fair, March 19, 2020, at Milton Union High School will be a wonderful opportunity for high school students to seek openings in the workforce upon graduation.

“The Montgomery County Commissioners are committed to engaging our high school students with positive career options,” said Montgomery County Commission President Judy Dodge. “We are proud to help connect them with employers who are looking to fill open positions and develop their future workforce. Events like this, as well as our several youth-oriented programs, help students learn about all the opportunities our County has to offer.”

"We see the Northern Regional Job Fair as an excellent opportunity for students that are interested in seeking employment after graduation in career fields that are ‘in-demand’, said Jason Inkrott, Ph.D., Northmont High School Principal.

Businesses are signing up quickly with over 20 employers committed thus far.

"This is a chance to meet the next generation of our region's workforce. We're inviting employers interested in hiring our graduating high schoolers to a brand new pilot event designed to connect you with students who are serious about immediately entering the workforce after graduation,” said Bryan Stewart, MCESC’s Workforce Director.

"We have a duty as school districts to expose our students to career opportunities because often students are only aware of the occupations of their family members and teachers," said Steve Verhoff, Assistant Superintendent at Tipp City Schools. “This event will connect our students to multiple employers and professions they may not have considered right here in the Miami Valley area.
