Guiding Gifted Learners Workshop

The Montgomery County ESC provides cutting-edge gifted supports to districts across the region.  As the need for collaboration and support increases, we are offering a variety of customized services to support school districts. Districts may choose to contract full service, a specified number of days of support, one of three service bundles, or single supports/ services.  

  • District Planning and services for whole grade, small group, or individual Gifted testing and identification, parent notification, and data reporting
     
  • Written Education Plans WEPs (WORD or Google format) and Written Acceleration Plans WAPs Professional Development and assistance
     
  • Subject and Grade Acceleration process
     
  • Annual reporting of district plan, self-report, and EMIS Gifted reporting for the Ohio Department of Education
     
  • Informing school districts of legislation pertaining to the education of gifted students in Ohio
     
  • Curriculum design and teaching strategies for gifted and regular education teachers
     
  • Professional development opportunities, including in-services with district gifted and regular education teachers as well as larger workshops open to all schools in the county
     
  • Consultation with gifted teachers, parents and students
     
  • Model lessons with gifted classes and regular classroom teachers
     
  • Assistance with planning and attending field trips and college visits
     
  • Special parent workshops
     
  • Enrichment opportunities for gifted students in collaboration with partnering groups
     
  • Information about competitions and participation in special programs and summer opportunities for bright children
     
  • Affiliation with National Association for Gifted Children, the Ohio Association for Gifted Children and the West Central Ohio Association for Gifted Children
     
  • Needs Assessment/ Evaluation of District Programming
     
  • Assisting districts in understanding the Gifted Indicator on their State Report Card
