Workforce & Business Advisory Council

Connecting education and industry so students can be successful in work and life

Workforce Department

Our Workforce Department serves as a liaison between higher education, K-12 institutions, industry leaders and community partners to empower the next generation of our region’s students with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive after graduation.

Through programs such as our Career Champions group and Counselors Academy, we help equip our local workforce ecosystem with creative connections and opportunities.

Business Advisory Council

The Montgomery County Educational Service Center facilitates the state-mandated Business Advisory Council (BAC), serving the public schools of Montgomery and Warren counties. The BAC brings together educators, industry leaders, and community partners to build meaningful, sustainable connections that prepare students for success in a global economy.

We are proud that the MCESC Business Advisory Council has been recognized by Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jim Tressel as a 4-Star BAC for 2026—our fourth consecutive year earning the highest distinction. MCESC was also one of only four councils in Ohio to receive additional Excellence Designations for advancing career development experiences, strengthening partnerships, and developing future-ready skills.

Four golden stars are displayed within a framed rectangle above the text %22BUSINESS ADVISORY COUNCIL%22 and %22Excellence in%22 with three categories listed below, all set against a blue and white background with the year %222026%22 at the top.
