OTES 2.0 and OPES 2.0, which stand for Ohio Teacher Evaluation System and Ohio Principal Evaluation System respectively, are comprehensive frameworks designed to assess and improve the performance of educators in Ohio. OTES 2.0 focuses on evaluating teachers, while OPES 2.0 focuses on evaluating principals. These systems provide a common language and set of expectations for educators and administrators, ensuring a consistent and fair evaluation process.

To support the implementation of these evaluation systems, Ohio has introduced Regional Data Leads. These individuals are responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data related to student achievement and educator performance. They collaborate with educators and administrators to use data effectively and make informed decisions that drive instructional improvement.
 

Ohio Resident Educator Mentor Training is a program aimed at supporting new teachers in their first years of teaching. Experienced educators serve as mentors to provide guidance, feedback, and resources to help new teachers develop their instructional skills and navigate the challenges of the profession. The training equips mentors with the knowledge and strategies to effectively support and guide their mentees.
 

The Ohio Personalized Learning Network (OPLN) is a statewide initiative that promotes personalized learning practices in schools. It provides educators with resources, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative platform to share best practices and innovative ideas. OPLN empowers educators to tailor instruction to meet the unique needs and interests of each student, fostering a more engaging and effective learning environment. Ohio emphasizes the importance of high-quality instructional materials by employing High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) specialists. These specialists evaluate, select, and recommend instructional materials that align with Ohio's learning standards and reflect best practices in pedagogy. They work closely with educators and district leaders to ensure the adoption of materials that support student learning and achievement.
